Abstract:

Although young open clusters with many massive stars have been recognized as gamma-ray sources, the emission mechanism of the gamma-ray is hardly known. We propose a Suzaku observation of an open cluster Westerlund 2 (RCW 49), from which gamma-ray emission has been detected with H.E.S.S. We observe this cluster to detect X-ray nonthermal emission from open clusters with TeV gamma-ray emission for the first time. We try to find out whether the emission comes from electrons or protons, and discuss the particle acceleration in open clusters.
