Abstract:

X-ray observation of radio lobe is essential to reveal the particle acceleration mechanism in the lobe, because we can obtain magnetic field and electron energy density without assumption of equipartition. The radio lobe of FR I radio galaxy Centaurus B was previously detected by ASCA. For revealing the mechanism of particle acceleration in radio lobes, detailed multi-wavelength observations are very important. We propose a deep observation of the radio lobe by Suzaku, which has the advantage of low background and high sensitivity for diffuse X-ray. Good quality Suzaku data combined with a detailed modeling reveals particle acceleration mechanism working in the radio lobe.
