Abstract:
Accurate relationships between baryons in galaxy clusters and underlying dark matter distributions are crucial for using clusters as cosmological probes. Understanding the gamut of ICM properties, however, requires X-ray observations of samples chosen independently of their X-ray characteristics; likewise, such samples provide a powerful tool for quantifying redshift evolution in cluster properties. We have amassed X-ray observations of 19 optically-selected clusters of galaxies, half at z~0.3 and half at z~0.8. Here we propose 6 additional observations in order to uniformly span a total redshift range of 0.15
