****************************************************** PR # 31503 Previous X-ray observations have pointed out that the stars in the s pectral range late B/early A are devoid of X-ray emission. However, in the ROSAT all-sky survey we detected about 90 late B-type stars of spectral type B7-B9. Follow up observations with the ROSAT HRI have shown that the X-ray emission of most of these late B-type star cann ot ascribe to late-type companions. On the other hand, neither the m odel for early type star X-ray production nor the model for X-ray pro duction in late-type stars can be attributed to the X-ray emission of late B-type stars. In order to investigate the X-ray spectra of the se hitherto unknown class of stellar X-ray emitters we propose to obs erve the two single stars (u Lep, 93 Tau) with ASCA ******************************************************
