Proposal Abstract

In order to complete programs w004 and w005 (AO2) we ask for 5 GHz VSOP+ground array multiepoch observations of the four X- and gamma-ray emitting blazars 0235+164, 0528+134, 1510-089 and 1749+096. All these sources are undergoing a strong variability in the radio band, and are therefore suitable candidates for the detection of superluminal motions in the inner regions of the radio jet. The requested observations, together with the HALCA-VLBI observations already scheduled, will enable us to locate the region of the variability, to derive the intrinsic parameters of the flow, and compare them with the predictions of the current models of high energy variability in AGN.
