Images and relating data on the analysis of asteroid Ryugu used in the paper "Anomalously porous boulders on (162173) Ryugu as primordial materials from its parent body" by Sakatani et al. (2021).

Summary

This archive contains images and supporting data used to produce the the results presented in the paper "Anomalously porous boulders on (162173) Ryugu as primordial materials from its parent body" by Sakatani et al. (2021). It is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.

1. TIR data

TIR brightness temperature images used in this paper are included. General description of the TIR data is found at http://darts.isas.jaxa.jp/planet/project/hayabusa2/.

2. Other data including source data of the figures

General descriptions of the ONC and NIRS3 data are found at http://darts.isas.jaxa.jp/planet/project/hayabusa2/.

ONC-T base map in Fig. 1 and Extended Data Fig. 1

Other ONC-T images used in Fig. 1, Fig. 2, and Extended Data Fig. 4

NIRS3 data used in Figs. 2c-d and Extended Data Figs. 4c-d

The files crat_{69, 46}_lonlat_inside.csv are NIRS3 footprints (center longitude (deg), center latitude (deg), and spot size (m)) inside the ID69 and ID46 craters corresponding to the Fig. 2c and Extended Data Fig. 4c, respectively. Similary, the files crat_{69, 46}_lonlat_outside.csv are the footprints outside these craters. The files crat_{69, 46}_spec.csv are the spectral data shown in Fig. 2c and Extended Data Fig. 4d, respectively. 4 rows mean ratioed spectrum, lower boundary of the error bars, upper boundary of the error bars, and wavelength in nm.

Source data of Fig. 3 and Extended Data Fig.6

ONC-T reflectance images, v-x or b-x slope images, TIR images registrated onto the corresponding ONC-T images, and lists of region of interest (ROI) for boulders and regolith are included. The instructions are written in 00readme.txt. The region data can be applied to ONC-T and TIR images using open-source softwares ImageJ or Fiji ROI Manager. The zip file can be loaded directly, it is not needed to decompress it.

Region data for HS1 and HS2 corresponding to Extended Data Fig. 2 and Supplementary Table 2

The files hyb2_tir_yyyymmdd_HHMMSS_l2.roi can be applied onto the corresponding TIR images using open-source softwares ImageJ or Fiji ROI Manager.

Global shape model used for thermal simulation

Note that the global shape model used in this study will be revised and the newer version will be published via https://darts.isas.jaxa.jp/planet/project/hayabusa2/. We recommend to use the coming latest version of the shape model unless you need to reproduce the results of this paper.
