This directory contains an old program to convert
from Viking Lander 2 SASEIS EDR to EDR2.
This old program is archived in NSSDC in the following URL:

http://nssdcftp.gsfc.nasa.gov/staging/request/PSPG00472/

This program is not expressed in ASCII code but in EBCDIC-US.
In addition, the program itself is wrapped by NSSDC Archival
Information Package (AIP).

In this directory, you can find a conversion program I made.
The conversion program extracts the source code from the NSSDC AIP,
and converts from EBCDIC-US to ASCII.

dat2pl1.c  ... conversion program 
edrfmt.pli ... extracted old program (ASCII)

These two programs are not available actually,
because SASEIS EDR Tape are not open.
You can use these programs as a hint of what the EDR2 tape is.
