Abstract

1ES~1927+654 is an enigmatic post-changing-look active galaxy (CL-AGN) which has shown a recent rise in the soft X-ray flux (by 10 times) and radio flux (by 60 times) in a few months, followed by detection of radio outflows (v=0.2c) with VLBA. In December 2024 for the first time a 2% linear polarization (in VLA X-band radio) was detected (priv comm.), revealing a real-time magnetic field alignment at the core of the AGN as the jet/UFO forms and evolves. Here we propose to observe the source with XRISM for a 200 ks snapshot to detect and characterize the emerging Fe K emission line and the UFOs in the 7-9 keV energy band. An affirmative detection of UFOs with XRISM will be the first ever `direct' (real-time) evidence of involvement of magnetic fields in the launching of UFOs.
