IC5063
A recent discovery of the broad-line region (BLR) in the radio galaxy Cen A in the high-resolution XRISM Resolve spectrum opened up new possibilities to probe the nature of BLR. To further explore the possibility, we propose to observe the nearby Compton-thin Seyfert 2 galaxy IC 5053 with XRISM. IC 5063 is known to have a broad-line component in polarized Balmer lines, indicating that the hidden BLR is observed in scattered light. Investigating the BLR with the X-ray Fe K-alpha line transmitted through the torus, combined with the polarized scattered Balmer BLR lines, gives a unique opportunity to view the BLR from different directions and thus to explore possible velocity anisotropies. This would help determine the physical process of BLR formation.
