Abstract

We propose two ToO observations of a Galactic transient black hole X-ray binary with a high inclination angle, at different spectral states during its outburst. The main science goal is to understand the launching mechanism of disk winds in black hole X-ray binaries and the evolution of the wind structure in their outbursts. Resolve 50 ks observations enable us to obtain the velocity structure of the winds by resolving the detailed profiles of Fe XXV He alpha and Fe XXVI Ly alpha absorption lines. The line profile can also constrain the geometry of the wind, which makes possible to accurately estimate the mass loss rate. Resolve is also capable of detecting weak absorption lines in the states where significant lines have rarely been observed.
