SS433
We propose an 80 ks observation of the Galactic microquasar SS 433, consisting of a 50 ks exposure in the out-of-eclipse phase and 30 ks in the ingress or egress of an eclipse. The main aim is to resolve the Doppler-shifted emission lines from the bipolar jets and thereby investigate the geometry and plasma properties in the X-ray emitting region of the jets. We also determine the direction of the orbital rotation with respect to that of the jet precession, by monitoring how the approaching and receding jets are occulted by the companion star during the ingress or egress of an eclipse.
