Abstract

To investigate the relationship between the thermal and non-thermal processes in the ICM, we propose a total of 430 ks of on-source XRISM time to observe two intriguing relaxed galaxy clusters. With this data, we will probe the effects of gas sloshing on the non-thermal emission by directly measuring the line-of-sight velocity dispersions within a 15% uncertainty to validate the tentative correlation found for the first time here in relaxed clusters, where the intensity of the non-thermal emission follows the strength of the velocity dispersion in the thermal plasma, a new result for radio mini-halos. Combining this data with the PV relaxed galaxy cluster targets of Perseus and A2029 will allow us to explore the role of gas sloshing as a function of host environment.
