Galaxy clusters are known to grow and assemble via gas accretion and mergers. Somewhere in-between is the case of minor mergers, resulting in dynamical processes such as cold fronts, sloshing, and ram-pressure stripping, all susceptible to impact turbulence and gas (thermo-) dynamics, hence the entire evolution of large scale structures in our Universe. We propose a deep XRISM observation of the triple-merging system Abell 85, with Resolve pointings at the cluster (cool) core and in the two merging sub clusters. This study will be essential to map gas dynamics in this complex system (also with regard to its dark matter distribution), but also to understand the impact of minor mergers on the turbulent support in relaxed clusters.
