Abstract

The metallicity of the intracluster medium, shaped by billions of Type Ia and core-collapse supernovae explosions, reflects the complex processes from nucleosynthesis to galaxy cluster dynamics. However, determining the exact contributions of these supernovae to galaxy cluster metal enrichment especially in terms of α-capture and Fe-peak elements requires high precision, which has been a significant challenge. With its unparalleled spectral resolution, XRISM-Resolve introduces a new level of accuracy in chemical abundance measurements. To explore these fundamental questions, we propose an 80 ks Resolve observation of Abell 2052, a bright galaxy cluster with a cool core, aiming to quantify these contributions precisely.
