Abstract

Though crucial for cluster physics, direct measurements of the intracluster medium (ICM) velocity structure are scarce. Recent advancements have enabled ICM velocity measurements in various clusters using the XMM-Newton EPIC-pn instrument. This employs Cu Ka line for recalibration. In the Coma cluster, distinct velocities, likely linked to subgroup mergers, have been identified. To explore further, the exceptional capabilities of the XRISM instruments are vital. Hence, we propose a 135 ks observation of the Coma cluster to map its ICM velocity structure and investigate potential merging scenarios.
