Abstract

The bright, nearby, and hot cluster Abell 496 is a unique system. Strong gas sloshing features have been observed. Simulations of the system predict that a previous north-south minor merger induced these. eROSITA detects an emission enhancement in the north-north-west direction and XRISM is ideally suited to measure corresponding gas velocities for the first time. Combining these two datasets, we will test the merger scenario and, if confirmed, constrain its parameters.
