A3376_CORE
We propose 450 ks XRISM observations of a late-phase merging cluster Abell 3376 to determine the bulk motion and turbulence of the intracluster medium (ICM) within a statistical error of ~23-53 km/s (1 sigma). Two pointings are proposed. Priority A (Core, 300 ks): We determine the direction of the gas flow around the second brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) which represents the peculiar bent radio jets. We will distinguish between the stripping and slingshot mechanisms at a 5 sigma level. Priority B (Downstream, 150 ks): We discover the developed turbulence, conservative 200~km/s, at a 3 sigma level. We will confirm the growth of Kelvin-Helmholtz instability with a large Reynolds number.
