Abstract

We propose to exploit the superior and unprecedented spectral capabilities of XRISM to X-ray the most energetic components of the central Galactic outflow, to securely confirm, or definitely invalidate, the tantalizing hints of up to 5 approaching and receding shells of high velocity, hot gas, tentatively seen in the Chandra-HETG spectrum of 4U 1746-37 via FeXXV-XXVI absorption. This will allow us not only to establish for the first time the existence of such high-energetic components of the Galactic outflow but also to study with unprecedented precision their physics and kinematics, one giant leap towards our understanding of the origin of the Galactic outflow, the physics at play in the Galactic center and the general problem of galaxy-SMBH co-evolution throughout the Universe lifetime.
