XRISM xtend observation 203038010

Object

ABELL2319_W

Abstract

We request 550 ks of XRISM observations in three pointings (NW, W, and Core) of Abell 2319 to directly test the sloshing-driven turbulent reacceleration scenario. Although previous XRISM data revealed enhanced velocity dispersion near the cold front, the outskirts remain unexplored and the spatial link between turbulence and the Mpc-scale radio halo has not been established. The proposed observations will map the turbulent velocity dispersion across the halo and resolve the velocity structure in the core and across the cold front.
