Abstract

The galaxy cluster Abell 2597 shows the clearest evidence to date of a black hole- driven fountain, with cold molecular gas simultaneously infalling and uplifted by AGN jets, making it a benchmark system for testing how mechanical feedback drives the velocity fields in the intracluster medium. We propose a single 100 ks XRISM/Resolve observation centered at the core to map the velocity field in this disturbed, feedback-dominated region, measuring line-of-sight bulk motions and turbulence to constrain the coupling between mechanical feedback and intracluster gas motion.
