ABELL3266_HEAD
Measuring radial profiles of ICM gas motions out to cosmologically-interesting radii in galaxy clusters is crucial to evaluating models of large-scale structure formation and constraining the hydrostatic mass bias. While this is now possible with XRISM, the low surface brightness at large radii makes it prohibitively difficult. Such measurements have only been done in one cluster, A2029, with results that differ from expectations. Expanding this sample with XRISM alone would take massive time investment. Instead, we propose to combine XRISM velocity measurements with indirect velocity measurements via density fluctuations from eROSITA to spatially resolve the ICM radial velocity profile of A3266 from the cluster center (covered by XRISM) out to 1 Mpc (covered by eROSITA).
