[caption] Movie of the solar corona taken at soft x-ray wavelengths in June 2000. This period represents the solar maximum of activity cycle 23. The x-ray corona is about one thousand times brighter than the periods of minimum activity, while it differs only about 0.1% in the visible wavelengths. This is a good time to observe the active regions and flare activities from them. |
